Happy Tuesday — and Happy Bonfire Night week! 🎇Here in Plymouth, the skies are about to sparkle with fireworks, the air will fill with the scent of toffee apples, and there’s that familiar excitement of autumn celebrations.

But while Bonfire Night is a time for fun and festivity, it can also be surprisingly hard work on your body — and your pets too! Whether you’re standing for hours at a display, lifting logs for a garden bonfire, or simply tensing up at the bangs and pops, your muscles and joints can feel it the next day.

💥 Keep Your Body in Balance

Here are a few quick tips from your local McTimoney chiropractor to help you stay comfortable and enjoy the celebrations pain-free:

  1. Wrap up warm – Cold air can make muscles tighten, especially around your neck and shoulders. Layer up, and don’t forget a scarf to keep those muscles cosy.

  2. Mind your posture – Standing still for long periods watching fireworks can strain your lower back. Shift your weight regularly, keep your knees slightly bent, and move around a little every few minutes.

  3. Be careful lifting – If you’re building a bonfire, avoid twisting while carrying or throwing logs. Bend your knees, not your back, and take your time.

  4. Stretch afterwards – A few gentle stretches when you get home can ease tension before it sets in.

🌿 The McTimoney Way

The gentle McTimoney Chiropractic approach can help keep your spine aligned, reduce stiffness, and improve your overall mobility — so you can enjoy seasonal activities without discomfort.

Many of my patients tell me they feel lighter, looser, and more balanced after treatment — just what you need before the winter months ahead!

🐾 A Quick Note for Pet Owners

Fireworks can be stressful for our furry friends. Keep them indoors, close curtains, and play some calming music. If they’re particularly anxious, talk to your vet about extra support — it can make all the difference.

✨ Wishing You a Safe & Sparkling Bonfire Night
