September: Getting Back Into Your Routine

September often feels like a fresh start. The summer holidays are over, children are back at school, and many of us return to our usual work and daily routines.

But getting back into normal activities can sometimes highlight aches and pains that have been building up over the summer. Long car journeys, gardening, DIY, carrying luggage or simply spending more time sitting than usual can all contribute to stiffness and discomfort.

At Back to Normal Chiropractic Clinic in Plymouth, I often see people who have allowed a niggle to continue until it starts affecting their everyday life. Addressing problems early can sometimes help prevent them becoming more troublesome.

McTimoney chiropractic uses a gentle, low-force approach and is suitable for people of a wide range of ages. Treatment is tailored to the individual, with the aim of helping you move more comfortably and get back to the activities you enjoy.

A few simple tips for September

  • Avoid sitting for long periods without getting up and moving around.

  • Take care when lifting after a period of being less active.

  • Build exercise back up gradually rather than doing too much too quickly.

  • Pay attention to persistent aches rather than simply trying to work through them.

  • If you've been putting off getting that niggle checked, September can be a good time to do something about it.

If you're experiencing back, neck or other musculoskeletal discomfort and would like to discuss whether chiropractic treatment may be appropriate for you, please get in touch.
